WESTFIELD, PA – Early Saturday evening, July 11, 2026, Crary Hose Company out of Westfield, Knoxville-Deerfield Volunteer Fire Company along with an ambulance from Sabinsville and a medic unit from Wellsboro responded to a UTV (Utility Task Vehicle) crash in Westfield Township around 6:37 PM.
By 6:41 PM Westfield fire personal started arriving at 18 Y and C Lane where the accident occurred. Additional units soon followed in.
Apparently a female operating a UTV was doing tight circles at a rapid speed which caused the UTV to roll or flipped onto its side. It was unconfirmed if the patient was actually ejected from the vehicle or if she just rolled out of the UTV as she was not restrained in the UTV/side by side. The victim was also not wearing a helmet at the time of the accident. It was reported that the victim suffered a leg injury, head injury, and abrasions. Because it was unknown if she suffered internal injuries and the fact that she had a loss of consciousness, an air medical helicopter was requested to be launched. As soon as possible the woman was loaded into the ambulance and was transported to the landing zone
A landing zone for LifeNet 7-7 was established with the help of Knoxville and Westfield firefighters. The landing zone was set up at the Electri-Cord Manufacturing located at 312 East Main Street in Westfield, PA. By 7:10 PM LifeNet 7-7 made touch down at Electri-Cord,
The responding Wellsboro medic unit was able to be recalled around 6:18 PM, as they were not needed as the patient was already at the landing zone being prepared to be flown to a trauma center.
It is unknown what time LifeNet 7-7 was airborne, with their patient, however, Sabinsville ambulance was heading back to their station around 7:43 PM.
