Joyce Elizabeth Reilly, age 79 of Elkland, PA, died on Monday, April 27, 2026, in Wellsboro, PA. She was born on October 12th, 1946, in upstate New York, in the town of Gouverneur. She lived in Cranberry Lake, NY, until approximately 3rd grade. She then moved to Rome, NY, for three years. She resided In Johnson City, NY, for less than one year and then moved to Keeseville, NY, for a couple of years. Rapid City, SD was her next home, followed by Sidney, NE, then Cheyenne, WY, Elkland, PA, and lastly Beech Creek, PA. She then returned to Elkland, PA where she remained.
Joyce attended Nebraska Wesleyan University in Lincoln, NE, for two years before graduating from Lock Haven State University with a Bachelor of Science in Chemistry. She went on to work in Elkland for a number of years at Doan’s Chevrolet and then Learn’s Dealership. While she worked she was the care provider for her mother for a number of years. She was also a very proud member of the Methodist Church in Elkland.
She enjoyed sewing and loved to read. Joyce was a rather skilled cross-stitcher and quilt maker. Although she was very much a homebody; she did love shopping and visiting with her friends and neighbors.
In her spare time she was active in the church choir and local historical museum – Coates Heritage House.
Joyce is survived by her brother, Robert N. Reilly, MD and his wife, Margaret; and nephews, Daniel Patrick Reilly, Michael Andrew Reilly (Theodora), Matthew Aaron Reilly (Katelyn), Peter Jason Reilly, Timothy Scott Reilly (Ashley), and James Neil Reilly (Kylie). She also leaves behind 6 grandnephews and nieces, as well as many close friends. She was preceded in death by her father, Neil Sykes Reilly and mother, Doris Richards Reilly.
Joyce will be laid to rest at Fairview Cemetery in Osceola, PA on Wednesday, May 13, 2026, at 1:00 pm. A graveside service will be held that day with Pastor Bruce Busia officiating. A luncheon will follow. Arrangements are in the care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Inc.
