TIOGA TOWNSHIP, PA – A vehicle was left disabled in the roadway after the driver struck a deer early Thursday morning, July 9, 2026.
Tioga Volunteer Fire Department responded to the reported disabled vehicle to assist with traffic control in the area of 17850 Route 287 around 4:42 AM.
It was noted that the male driver that he could not steer the vehicle after he had hit the deer. The airbags in the vehicle also deployed. The driver was not injured.
Tioga fire personnel arrived at the scene around 5:08 AM, as did Pennsylvania State Police.
The disabled vehicle was able to be moved to the side of the road, where Cooper’s Towing was said to be coming for it at a later time. Tioga fire units were cleared to return back to their station at 5:27 AM.
