CHATHAM TOWNSHIP, PA – Back on Tuesday, February 10, 2026, around 10:48 AM Pennsylvania State Police responded to a single vehicle accident along the Norris Brook Road just south of Pope Corner Road in Chatham Township.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, the driver of a 2019 Peterbilt 389 tractor trailer was traveling approximately 30 MPH Westbound along Norris Brook Road when he observed a vehicle traveling in the opposite lane of travel. The tractor trailer driver attempted to pull over onto the shoulder of the roadway to allow space for the oncoming vehicle to pass. However, due to snow on the shoulder of the roadway, the rig slid into the embankment located along the North side of Norris Brook Road. The tractor trailer then rolled onto its side and had to be recovered by White’s Towing.
The rig sustained functional damages and had to be towed from the scene . The truck driver related he was wearing his seat belt and sustained no injuries as a result of the crash.
A traffic citation was issued on Thursday morning, February 5, 2026, against the owner of this vehicle. According to court records, 58-year-old James E. Myers of Mount Jewett, PA was cited for 75 § 1786 §§ F – Operating a Vehicle without Required Financial Responsibility. This court case is still active and the court still awaits a plea from the owner of the vehicle.
