The world lost a beautiful soul on Friday, September 4, 2026, and Heaven gained an angel. Jennifer Lynn Shedd of Mansfield, PA, passed away at her home. She was born on April 26, 1979, to Sherry LeClair-Brooks and Craig Shedd.
A piece of Jen’s heart was already waiting for her in Heaven with her beloved son, Justin Dale Shedd.
Justin was Jen’s whole world. Being his mother was one of the greatest joys and most important parts of her life. She was an amazing mother who loved her son with her entire heart. She was incredibly proud of him, and the bond they shared was something truly special. Whether she was cheering him on from the sidelines, playing softball alongside him, or simply spending time with her boy, Jen treasured every moment she had with Justin. Their love was unconditional, and it was a love that never ended. We take comfort in knowing they are now reunited in Heaven.
Jennifer was a beloved mom, sister, daughter, aunt, and friend. If you knew Jen, you knew she had a heart bigger than words could describe. She loved deeply, gave freely, and had a way of making people feel welcome and loved. Her infectious laugh could light up a room, and her generous spirit left an impression on everyone fortunate enough to know her.
Jen was especially proud of and devoted to her nieces and nephews: Bailey, Sara, Nevaeh, Anna, Logan, and her buddy Jon (LJ), to whom she was especially close. To them, as well as to many others, she was affectionately known as Crazy Aunt Jenny. She loved being around kids of all ages and never missed an opportunity to cheer them on, encourage them, or simply enjoy watching them grow.
Jen’s love of sports was a huge part of who she was. She was a proud supporter of the Mansfield Mayhem travel softball team and could often be found in the stands, enthusiastically cheering on the athletes she loved. She loved going to sporting events of all kinds, watching college football and basketball, and following the NFL and MLB. She also loved playing softball herself and had the special opportunity to play on a co-ed team alongside her son, Justin—a memory she loved to talk about.
Jen had a gift for making memories and making people laugh. She was the kind of person who could turn an ordinary moment into something worth remembering. She loved hard, laughed loudly, and showed up for the people she cared about. She was loved by so many and will be missed beyond words.
Jennifer is survived by her parents, Sherry (Dennis) and Craig, both of Mansfield; siblings Chris (Tara) Shedd of Corning, NY; Stephanie (Harland) Crawford of Wellsboro, PA; and Amanda (Jon) Kennedy of Roseville, PA; step-siblings Amie Housel of Rochester, NY, and Amanda Knapp of Sayre, PA; her beloved nieces and nephews; step-nieces Kerstin Bird and Nicole Campbell; step-nephews Michael Copas and Seth Crawford; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and her loving companion and service dog, Emmie.
She was predeceased by her son, Justin Dale Shedd; her stepmother, Penny Shedd; and her grandparents, John and Juanita Shedd and Hector LeClair and Norma Jean LeClair.
Jen’s life was about showing up for the people she loved, cheering them on, and finding joy in the things that mattered to her. In her memory, we ask that you do something Jen would have loved: go to a local sporting event, sit in the stands, cheer loudly, and support local youth. If you see a young athlete raising money for their team or season, consider sponsoring them in Jen’s honor.
Rest easy, Aunt Jenny. Your laugh, your love, and your enormous heart will live on in all of us.
