Mounties Break 47-Year-Old 4×100 Relay Record at Buffalo

BUFFALO, NY- Lovett DavenportDorrian McCargoJerry Holmes Jr. and Cahsid Raymond teamed up to break the long standing Mansfield 4×100 meter relay record at the University at Buffalo Alumni Invitational, on Friday, April 17.

Davenport, McCargo, Holmes, and Raymond set the record with a time of 42.43 in the event. The record had stood since 1978 (42.50). They would win the event with that time as well. Mansfield had an additional team finish fifth with a time of 44.68. 

Raymond would claim victory in the 100-meter dash with a time of 10.67. Davenport would finish 12th with a time of 11.30. Holmes, Joseph FryeAntonio Green Jr., and Ajani Gibson would finish with times of 11.78, 11.94, and 12.13 respectively. 

Raymond won his third event with a 21.39 second time in the 200-meter dash. Davenport (23.25), McCargo (23.38), Will Posey III (23.88), Ibrahim Sheriff (24.09), Ray Kasili (24.36), Gibson (24.46), Joshua Culver (25.43) and David Martinez (25.72) also competed for the Mounties. 

Noah Shedden would run a PSAC qualifying time in the 3K Steeplechase, clocking in at 9:47.70. It is also the sixth fastest time in program history. He would finish third in the event. Greysen Kupsky and Derek Simpson would finish ninth and tenth in the event with times of 11:21.70 and 11:29.44.

Calvin Cragle would finish second in the shot put with a mark of 15.22 meters. Joey Biviano finished 14th with a mark of 11.64 and Khyre Inman had a mark of 9.91. 

The trio competed in the hammer throw as well. Cragle had a mark of 40.11, Inman had a mark of 34.14 and Biviano had a mark of 30.46.

Inman would take fourth in the javelin with a top mark of 41.21. Frye would take seventh with a 39.30 meter throw. McCargo and Connor Trimber would hit best marks of 33.47 and 26.58 respectively. 

Holmes, Trimber, Kasilli, Dominic Bill, Culver, and Davenport would participate in the long jump, hitting marks of 6.49, 6.42, 6.14, 6.04, 5.39, and 4.87 meters respectively. 

Homes would also take fourth in the high jump clearing 1.88 meters.

Mansfield would take fifth in the 4×400-meter relay with a time of 3:28.82. 

Rylan Ebner would finish in the 5K with a time of 17:10.75. 

Martinez competed in the 400-meter dash and had a time of 1:01.03. Nic Mattison would take 28th in the 800-meter dash, winning his heat, with a time of 2:04.08
