MILLERTON, PA – Big Elm Volunteer Fire Department and Millerton Volunteer Fire Department were dispatched to a single vehicle crash on Tuesday evening, September 29, 2026, at 10:10 PM.
Around 10:16 PM, Big Elm fire personnel out of Daggett, PA, arrived in the area of 9231 Route 549 where the vehicle accident was reported to have struck the guide rail. It was confirmed that no one was around the vehicle when fire personnel got on scene.
Also at 10:16 PM, Millerton fire units were requested to standby in their quarters. Millerton Volunteer Fire Department would be recalled at 10:21 PM as they were not needed at the scene.
Fire personnel finally made contact with an individual involved in the crash around 10:40 PM and that individual requested Windy Hill Towing to remove the damaged vehicle.
Pennsylvania State Police made it to the scene by 10:53 PM and they will be handling the investigation into this crash.
There were no reported injuries in this incident.
Windy Hill Towing arrived at the crash site at 11:02 PM. The vehicle was removed and the roadway was reported open and Big Elm fire crews were cleared to return back to their station at 11:20 PM.
