BLOSSBURG, PA – On Tuesday afternoon, September 29, 2026, Blossburg Borough Police, fire and EMS crews responded to a reported natural gas leak at a home in Blossburg, PA.
UGI had notified the 911 Center of the call they received from the residence and Blossburg firefighters were dispatched at 2:55 PM to the 270 block of South Williamson Road for a gas leak in the basement of the home. It was also noted that a detector had gone off yesterday and again today, warning the residents of an issue. The homeowner did a soap test which showed where the leak was coming from.
Fire personnel arrived at the home by 3:01 PM. By 3:04 PM fire personnel reported to a 911 Operator that there was a strong odor of gas in the house.
UGI arrived at the home by 3:12 PM, where Borough Police, Engine 4-2 and ambulance 4-6 were waiting for them.
At 3:54 PM Blossburg command turned the scene over to the UGI employee. All Blossburg fire and ambulance units headed back to their station.
There were no reported injuries at this incident.
