WELLSBORO, PA – On Monday, August 31, 2026, the Pennsylvania Department of Community & Economic Development (DCED) Secretary Rick Siger announced $50,004 in Municipal Assistance Program (MAP) funding to support an update to the Tioga County Comprehensive Plan—a long-range roadmap that helps guide future growth, development, infrastructure, land use, and resource protection. This investment will help the Tioga County Planning Commission plan thoughtfully for Tioga County’s future and build stronger, more sustainable communities.
Looking ahead, the Tioga County Planning Commission is committed to assisting 17 Tioga County municipalities pursue MAP funding to update or develop multi-municipal comprehensive plans, with award announcements expected in spring 2027.
Residents are strongly encouraged to attend all future meeting dates for the remaining 2026 year. Those meeting dates are as follows;
* Wednesday, September 9th at 6:30 PM.
* Wednesday, October 14th at 6:30 PM.
* Tuesday, November 10th at 6:30 PM. (Date changed due to Veterans Day).
* Wednesday, December 9th at 6:30 PM.
All meetings are scheduled to be held at the Tokisha Building located at 124 NYPUM Drive in Wellsboro, PA.
