MANSFIELD, PA – A two vehicle accident sent one man to the hospital on Tuesday afternoon, September 8, 2026. The crash occurred in front of the Mansfield Hose Company located at 381 South Main Street around 12:31 PM.
Mansfield Borough Police, Mansfield fire and EMS personnel were dispatched to the rear-end collision where one male was confined to his vehicle after the accident.
Borough police were first to arrive on scene by 12:34 PM and requested assistance with traffic control as one lane was blocked. The officer wanted to close down the one lane, however, he was the only one on scene. At that time, Mansfield University Campus Police came down to lend a hand with traffic.
Mansfield ambulance unit with a crew pulled out of their station and immediately assessed the drivers involved in the crash. They were followed by Mansfield’s Engine 2-2 who assisted in getting the gentleman out of his vehicle.
The male driver was injured and would be transported by Mansfield ambulance crew to Corning Hospital for treatment of his injuries.
It is believed that both vehicles were towed from the scene, but FNN could not confirm that information.
A tow company arrived on scene at 12:58 PM. The roadway was cleared and all Mansfield fire personnel were able to drive right back into their bay shortly after 1:00 PM.
