SWEDEN TOWNSHIP – A water tanker ended up going into a ditch in the 1800 block of East Second Street in Sweden Township on Monday, March 2, 2026.
The Coudersport Volunteer Fire Department was still on scene at 6:00 PM assisting Pennsylvania State Police with traffic as the Westbound lane remains closed until the water truck is removed from the scene.
The water from the tanker was pumped over to another water truck. Once that process was completed the water tanker in the ditch was able to be removed from the ditch. The water tanker suffered disabling damage in this accident.
At 6:18 PM the vehicle was cleared from the scene and all remaining Coudersport fire units were able to return to their station.
Remember to support your local fire and ambulance departments in 2026. They are there for you, so be there for them.
