PSP-Coudersport Release – October 2026.
WEST BRANCH TOWNSHIP, PA – A 78-year-old female and a 52-year-old male, both of Galeton, PA, were victims of a scam in which they lost $25,000.00.
On Monday, October 5, 2026, around 3:30 PM, Pennsylvania State Police based in Coudersport, PA, received information regarding a theft of funds that occurred back on August 26, 2026, where actor(s) were posing as Apple Support related to the victims they were receiving а refund from Apple and actor(s) requested a wire transfer to complete the refund.
An investigation is ongoing in this theft.
If you are contacted by any individuals posing as Apple Support about a refund, please do
not engage with these individual(s) or provide them any personal information, bank account
information, Social Security Information, etc. This is a scam.
