WELLSBORO, PA – A single vehicle accident was reported on Tuesday morning, March 3, 2026, in front of a residence in Shippen Township, around 9:22 AM.
Wellsboro fire and EMS crews responded to the area of 4937 Route 6 where a minivan had apparently slid off the roadway.
A member of the Tri-Town Volunteer Fire Company out of Ulysses, PA, who was in the area stopped to assist the driver and called the 911 Dispatch Center to report the crash. The firefighter noted that the driver was shaken up after the incident but did not believe the driver was injured. The fire personnel also encouraged the driver to hang tight and wait for the fire department and Pennsylvania State Police, when the driver tried to move the van.
Wellsboro ambulance arrived on scene around 9:38 AM and checked the driver over. Engine 1-1 with a crew would arrive on scene at 9:42 AM and they confirmed earlier reports about the accident.
The driver refused treatment and signed the necessary paperwork, which allowed the ambulance to be cleared from the scene and head back to their station.
Since the van was well off the roadway and had only suffered body damage and was drivable, fire crews were allowed to return to their station around 9:48 AM.
If new information about this crash becomes available it will be added to this article.
