
GAINES TOWNSHIP, PA – A single vehicle crash was reported late Friday evening, August 28, 2026, around 11:00 PM in Gaines Township, PA.
A call to 911 reported that a truck traveling at a high rate of speed had crashed into a building at the intersection of Route 349 and Route 6.
The male driver of the pickup was out walking around when fire personnel from the Goodyear Hose Company out of Galeton, PA, arrived on scene at 11:05 PM. Command was set up by 11:18 PM as fire units arrived on scene.
Early reports indicated that a vehicle had struck a storage unit in the area of that intersection. The male driver of the vehicle was not injured. Responding medics out of Wellsboro were able to be recalled as they were not needed at the scene.
Once the vehicle was pulled from the building all fire crews were cleared to return to their station at 12:45 AM, Saturday, August 29, 2026.
