RUTLAND TOWNSHIP, PA – On Friday, December 5, 2025, fire crews from Mansfield Hose Company and Big Elm Fire Department responded to a single vehicle crash in Rutland Township around 10:30 PM.
The crash occurred in the area of 3197 Route 549. Early reports indicated that the vehicle had come to rest partially blocking the roadway. It was also noted that the male driver was not injured.
Mansfield fire personnel arrived on scene at 10:35 PM and confirmed the address of the crash. A few minutes later, the firefighter issued a recall of Mansfield and Big Elm’ firefighters Both departments returned to their quarters.
Pennsylvania State Police was requested first and they reached out to the 911 Dispatch Center to get emergency crews dispatched to the scene.
Pennsylvania State Police arrived on scene by 10:46 PM and around the same time, the towing company arrived at the incident.
At 10:49 PM the Mansfield fire personnel turned the scene over to police and they were cleared to return to their station.
