Towanda Man Ejected In Rollover Crash Charged With DUI

BRADFORD COUNTY, PA – Early Tuesday morning, December 23, 2025, around 1:28 AM, Pennsylvania State Police based in Towanda responded to a single vehicle accident in the area of 699 Pine Valley Road in North Towanda Township, PA.

According to police, they investigated this crash where 18-year-old Rylee R. Sluyter of Towanda, PA, was ejected from the from the red 1996 Dodge Ram 1500 he was operating.

Sluyter was said to have been traveling at speeds to fast for the roadway he was traveling on.

During the investigation it was determined that Sluyter had allegedly been consuming alcohol prior to getting behind the wheel and driving the truck.

A search warrant was obtained for the driver’s blood at which time was sent to NMS Labs for testing. The results showed that the Sluyter’s Blood Alcohol Concentration (BAC) was in fact above the legal limit to be operating a motor vehicle.

Rylee Sluyter was charged with the following;
1. Misdemeanor for Driving Under the Influence of Alcohol/Controlled Substance.
2. Misdemeanor for DUI/Unsafe Driving.
3. Summary for (Failure to) Driving on Roadways laned for traffic.
4. Summary for (Failure to) Driving at Safe Speed.
5. Summary for (Failure to use) Restraint Systems – Other Vehicle.

Sluyter’s preliminary hearing is set for Friday, February 27, 2026 at 9:00 am in front of Magisterial District Judge ToddnCarr.
