Storytellers Book Fair Presented by Lycoming Arts Returns to Lycoming College

Celebrate the Art of the Narrative” with Local Authors, Vendors, and Publishing Leaders at Pennington Lounge on Friday, May 15

WILLIAMSPORT, PA — Join Lycoming Arts for the Storytellers Book Fair, a vibrant gathering of local authors, speakers, illustrators, vendors, and book lovers, on Sunday, May 17 from 4:00 PM to 7:00 PM in Pennington Lounge at Lycoming College.

Celebrate the Art of the Narrative! Discover your next favorite read, meet the creative minds behind the pages, and experience the power of storytelling in a dynamic, welcoming setting designed for connection and inspiration.

This second annual book fair offers an engaging evening of conversation, books, food, and wine—bringing people together through a shared love of story in a way that is both meaningful and fun.

The evening begins at 4:00 PM with doors opening to a lively book fair atmosphere featuring local and regional authors and a community book swap. Attendees are encouraged to bring a book to share, along with an index card inside describing their reason for sharing and what the book has meant to them.

At 4:30 PM, featured author PJ Piccirillo will present a discussion on his historical novel The Indigo Scarf, followed by a Q&A session. Piccirillo’s work explores African American pioneer history in northcentral Pennsylvania, shedding light on a powerful and often overlooked chapter of the region’s past.

At 5:30 PM, publishing industry expert and Otto Bookstore General Manager John Shableski will present “So, You Wrote a Book… Now What?”, offering practical insights into marketing, self-promotion, and navigating the publishing landscape. A Q&A session will follow.

Throughout the evening, guests can meet authors, purchase books, and have them personally signed. Additional interactive experiences include themed “Novel Treasures” basket raffles and “Uncork the Unknown,” where guests select a mystery-wrapped bottle of wine.

Attendees are also invited to participate in the Author Raffle by connecting with six or more authors for a chance to win prizes, including a River Valley Film Festival Pass and a complimentary brunch with Lycoming Arts President Debi Smith Burch and local author Alivia Tagliaferri.

Guests will also have the opportunity to learn more about the new Storytellers Book Club, shop exclusive Lycoming Arts merchandise, and engage more deeply with the region’s creative community.

Guest passes are available at three levels: $25 Educator Discount (with valid school email), $35 General Admission (including one book swap selection), and $50 Admission with Swag Bag (including two book swap selections).

More than a dozen local and regional authors, illustrators, and creative vendors are already confirmed to participate in the Storytellers Book Fair, with additional space available for those interested in joining this growing literary event. Lycoming Arts welcomes those interested in showcasing their work and connecting with the community.
