Sheeler and Raymond Named 2025-26 Mansfield Winter Athletes of the Year

MANSFIELD, PA. – Women’s Basketball’s Katie Sheeler and Track and Field’s Cahsid Raymond were named the 2025-26 Mansfield Mountaineers Winter Athletes of the Year after their standout seasons.

The pair were honored at the Mountie Awards on May 9.

This is Sheeler’s second year in a row earning the award. She is the first women’s basketball player since Brielle Kelly in 2016-17 and 2017-18.

It is Raymond’s first honor with the track and field team and fifth time honored as Athlete of the Year. All previous honors came with the sprint football team and Fall Athlete of the Year. Raymond is the fourth to earn athlete of the year with two distinctly different sports, joining Alicia Hamerla (field hockey, basketball, softball and track) Heather Long (field hockey, softball) and Alison Tagliaferri (basketball, softball). His fifth athlete of the year honor ties Charity (Learn) Walker, who had five with cross-country and track and field, at second most all time.

KATIE SHEELER-
Sheeler was a top shooter in Mansfield history and proved it with performances this year. She scored her 1000th career point as a junior. She broke the career record for made three pointers with 193 and had a season high of 34 points against D’Youville. She was second in the PSAC in scoring and 3pt field goals. Sheeler was named to First Team All-PSAC. She collected 87 assists, 71 steals, 501 points, 125 total rebounds and 11 blocks.

CAHSID RAYMOND-
Raymond continued to put his name littered throughout the Mansfield record books. Raymond set program records in the long jump, 60-meter dash, 200-meter dash, and was a part of the 4×200 relay. He earned a silver medal at the PSAC Championships in the 200-meter dash. He finished eighth in the long jump and was also a qualifier for the 60-meter dash.

Spring Athletes of the Year will be announced June 24.
