UNION COUNTY, PA – UPDATE – At 2:15 AM FNN received word that Interstate 80 westbound was reopen in Union and Northumberland counties.
WHITE DEER TOWNSHIP,, PA – UPDATE – The Pennsylvania State Police in Milton continue their investigation a seven vehicle crash on Interstate 80 West Bound at Mile Marker 202.
As reported earlier, there were several individuals who suffered serious injuries and were transported to Geisinger Medical Center for treatment.
Interstate 80 West bound remained closed for several hours. Around 8:30 PM one lane was opened so traffic could drive around the crash scene. During the road closure a detour established at exit 212 west bound.
According to PennDOT, both lanes of Interstate 80 westbound was closed between Exit 212B (Interstate 180/Williamsport/Route 147) in Northumberland County and Exit 178 (Route 220 / Lock Haven) in Clinton County.
According to Pennsylvania State Police, around 4:34 PM, Troopers from PA State Police based in Miton were dispatched to the area of 180 W Mile Marker 202, in White Deer Township, Union County for a multiple vehicle crash with entrapment. This crash occurred as (Unit 1), a tractor trailer operated by Gueye Gornarou, from Bronx NY, was traveling west on Interstate 80 when he failed to observe multiple parked vehicles in a construction backlog along Interstate 80 West bound. The tractor trailer struck the rear of parked (Unit 2), a Dodge Ram operated by Drew Miller of Lock Have, PA, and (Unit 3) a tractor trailer driven by Justin Jackson of Malvern, OH, in the right lane. As Gornarou swerved his tractor trailer into the left lane, he struck a parked (Unit 4) Honda Pilot, operated by Lynn George of Delmont, PA. Gornarou’s trailer then jackknifed and struck (Unit 5) a Mercedes-Benz GLC driven by Melissa Neville of Hawthorne, NJ. and (Unit 6 )a Toyota Highlander driven by Timmie Oneil of Nineveh, NY. After striking the Honda Pilot, the Honda Pilot was then pushed off the south edge of the roadway into the center median. The Honda Pilot overturned multiple times. After overturning, Gornarou’s trailer ended up landing on the Honda Pilot. That vehicle was occupied by the operator 50-year-old Jayson George, 44-yeaer-old Lynn George, a 9-year-old boy, a 14-year-old female, and a 17-year-old male.
Jayson George, the 9-year-old boy and the 17-year-old male were all life flighted from scene to Geisinger Medical Center for treatment. Lynn George and the 14-year-old female were transported by ambulance to Geisinger Medical Center for medical treatment.

WHITE DEER TOWNSHIP, PA – Around 4:30 PM on Monday, July 27, 2026, fire, EMS and three medical helicopters ended up being requested to the scene of a serious accident involving seven vehicles along Interstate 80, near mile marker 202 westbound in Union County.
Early reports indicated that five individuals were entrapped in a SUV. A tractor trailer was reported to have tipped over onto the SUV trapping and injuring everyone inside the SUV.
The roadway was closed down due to accident. Three medical helicopters were would land on the roadway close to the scene.
According to incoming reports, Interstate 80 westbound was shut down at the Route 15 interchange.
Units from Lycoming County were also dispatched to the scene for mutual aid.
FNN could only confirm that LifeFlight 1 and LifeFlight 4 were two the of the medical helicopters that flew out patients from the scene to Geisinger Medical Center.
The last entrapped victim was extricated just before 6:00 PM.
PA State Police confirmed on Tuesday, July 28, 2026, that there were five victims injured in the Honda Pilot in which the trailer of a rig flipped over onto that vehicle with a family of 5 inside. The entire family was transported to Geisinger Medical Center for further evaluations and treatment. As new Information becomes available it will be added to this post.
