WELLSBORO, PA — The Tioga County Planning Department is seeking proposals for
informational booths and educational activities to help celebrate the designation of the Pine Creek Rail Trail as Pennsylvania’s 2026 Trail of the Year by the Pennsylvania Department of Conservation and Natural Resources (DCNR).
Stretching 62 miles through the Appalachian Mountains in Tioga and Lycoming counties, the Pine Creek Rail Trail is widely recognized for its scenic beauty, rich history, and outstanding recreational opportunities. As part of the Trail of the Year celebration, Tioga County invites organizations and groups located in Tioga and Lycoming counties—or those with a footprint in either county—to host an informational booth and/or provide an educational activity during the celebration on Friday, September 25, 2026, and/or Saturday, September 26, 2026. Celebration activities will take place at the Patterson Trailhead, 32 Fellows Ave, Wellsboro, PA 16901.
The deadline to submit proposals is August 14, 2026.
Proposals should be emailed to rcourtney@tiogacountypa.us with the subject line “PCRT TOTY RFP.” Each submission must include a completed RFP form, available at www.tiogacountypa.us . Submission of a proposal does not guarantee selection. Organizations selected to participate will be notified by email during the week of August 17, 2026. Selected organizations must confirm receipt of the notification and their participation within one week of receiving the acceptance email.
