William “Bill” L. Crance, age 74 of Elkland, PA, passed away on Sunday, September 6, 2026, at the Corning Hospital surrounded by his loved ones. Bill was born on Friday, November 9, 1951, in Blossburg, PA, and was son to the late Jack and Lena (Gardner) Crance.
William married Candace “Candy” M. Holmes, his high school sweetheart, on July 17, 1971 – and they shared 60 loving years together. After 30 years of working as an equipment operator with PennDOT, Bill retired and enjoyed his time with his family.
Bill was a deeply devoted family man. He loved being alongside his wife, having family dinner nights (especially cheeseburgers), and spending time with his son, daughter-in-law, and grandchildren. Bill was the most devoted grandfather to his grandchildren and never missed a single event they had for school or sports. He enjoyed going out on the lake and to the river property with his family. He loved going on adventures with his son to find marketplace “treasures” and always looked forward to stopping for breakfast on their trips. In his free time, you could find Bill in his or his son’s garage tinkering away on several different projects.
He is survived by his wife, Candy Crance of Elkland, PA; son, Conrad “CJ” (Lindsay) Crance of Lawrenceville, PA; granddaughter Darby Crance, and grandson Gabe Crance both of Lawrenceville, PA. Bill was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Bonnie; brother, Charles “Chuck” Crance; and in-laws, Conrad and Judy Holmes.
A celebration of life will be held at a later date. Memorial donations can be sent to the Pennsylvania SPCA in Bill’s honor by clicking HERE. Arrangements are in the care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Inc.
