
Velma (Wilber) Spencer, age 79, of Wellsboro, PA, passed away on Thursday, February 26, 2026, at The Green Home in Wellsboro, PA. She was born on Saturday, January 18, 1947, in Canton, PA, a daughter of Alfred and Myrtle (Kelley) Wilber.
Velma and her husband, Donald Spencer, Jr., celebrated 60 years of marriage on December 12, 2025.
She worked as an assembler for Truck-Lite. Velma enjoyed playing bingo, the TV show Survivors, and traveling on bus trips.
Velma is survived by her husband; two sons, Darren (Jody Mitchell) Spencer of SC, and Brett (Karen) Spencer of Duncannon, PA; three daughters, Tracy (David) Nobles of Lawrenceville, PA, Stacy (Tom) Hemenway of Wellsboro, PA, and Lisa Bentley of Tioga, PA; ten grandchildren, Alan, Andy, Adam, Eric, Spencer, Tara, Kristen, Alexander, Jared, and Hailey; one great granddaughter; two brothers, Cecil Wilber of Canton, PA, and Lewayne (Marilyn) Wilber of Canton, PA; and a sister-in-law, Barbara Wilber of Canton, PA.
She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Dennis Spencer; two sisters, Phyllis and Dorothy Wilber; and three brothers, Elwood, Lewis and Gary Wilber.
