Sylvia Kay Watkins, age 85, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Wednesday, August 19, 2026, at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. She was born on Wednesday, January 15, 1941, in Elmira, NY, a daughter of Wilber Glenn and Dorothy (Hemley) Smith.
Sylvia graduated from Troy High School in 1958 and was the Troy Pool Queen of 1958. Sylvia had been employed by General Motors. She enjoyed decorating her house.
Sylvia is survived by her sons, Wesley (Nora) Watkins of Hamlin, NY, and Gregory Watkins of Mansfield, PA; one granddaughter, Kelsey Watkins; three great grandchildren, Jason (JJ) Watkins, Jacob Watkins, Kennedy Watkins; a sister, Linda Tappan of Austin, TX; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Leslie Brett Watkins; a brother, Curtis Hemly Smith; two grandchildren, Jason Watkins and Shauna Watkins; and the father of her children, Lester Watkins, Jr.
A graveside service will be held on Saturday, September 5, 2026 at 11am at Glenwood Cemetery in Troy, PA. Services are under the direction of Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. www.buckheitfcandcrematory.com.
