Stepanie Lynn Walters, age 51 of Elkland, PA, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, January 16, 2026, at UPMC Wellsboro Hospital. She was born on Wednesday, May 29, 1974, in Coudersport, PA, and was a daughter to the late Paul Sr. and Joyce (Hackett) Truax.
On July 18, 1998, Andrew W. Walters married Stepanie in Osceola, PA. They spent 27 loving years together building a life and caring for their four children.
She was a 1992 Elkland Area High School graduate and a member of the Elkland Volunteer Fire Department.
Stepie enjoyed being crafty; making needlepoint art or crocheting anything she put her mind to. She loved cooking, reading, spending time with her only granddaughter, and watching movies. Little House on the Prairie was one of her favorite shows and she owned all the books as well. Stepanie was a great and loving wife, mother and grandmother who will be deeply missed by all.
Stepanie is survived by her husband, Andrew Walters of Elkland; children, Adriana Walters (Damien) of Sharon, PA, Britney Walters (Jamie) of Larksville, PA, William Walters (Ethan) of Sharon, PA, and Alexander Walters of Elkland; granddaughter, Samantha Harrison; siblings, Paul (Lisa) Truax Jr. of Lawrenceville, PA, Casey (Juliana) Truax of Tioga, PA, and Travis Truax of Lawrenceville, PA; sisters-in-law, Rachel (John) Rider of Elkland and Laurie (Larry) Keener of Sayre, PA; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins. She was preceded in death by her parents and both side of grandparents.
Family and friends are called to Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland, PA on Monday, January 19th from 6:00 pm to 8:00 pm for visitation. Visitation will also be held on Tuesday, January 20th from 12:00 pm to 1:00 pm. A funeral service will be held immediately following at 1:00 pm on Tuesday with R.G. Goodrich II officiating.
Stepanie will then be laid to rest at Highland Cemetery in Elkland, PA. Memorial donations in her honor can be sent to the Elkland Volunteer Fire Department located on Parkhurst St., Elkland, PA. Arrangements are in the care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Inc.
