Robert Neal Calhoun Jr., age 85, of Arnot, passed away peacefully on Sunday, March 22, 2026. He was surrounded by his loving family and friends at the time of his passing.
Neal was born on June 13, 1940, in Takoma Park, Maryland.
On August 5, 1962, Neal married the former Mary Smith. Together, they cherished 63 years of marriage.
Neal was a devoted member of the Blossburg Seventh Day Adventist Church.
One of Neal’s favorite pastimes was cooking and baking, activities at which he excelled.
Neal is survived by his wife, Mary, who resides in Arnot; children: Tammy (Larry) Hubbard of Union Springs, NY, April Santiago of Arnot, Roxanne (Roger) Rollins of Chewelah, WA, Micheal (Tammy) Calhoun of Star, North Carolina, Patricia (partner, Rich Flock) of Malcolm, Nebraska, and Misty (Lance) Mays of Fountain, Colorado. He is also survived by eighteen grandchildren, fifteen great-grandchildren, and his brother, Dr. Arthur Calhoun.
Neal was preceded in death by his brother, Hiram Calhoun.
Family and friends gathered on Sunday, March 29th at the Blossburg Seventh Day Adventist Church in Blossburg, for his service and those in attendance were provided the opportunity to pay their respects and share memories. Funeral service was officiated by Pastor Joe Cobb. Neal will be laid to rest at Maple Hill Cemetery in Arnot.
