Paul William Palmer, 67, known affectionately to many as Paulie, passed away on June 15, 2026, at Guthrie Robert Packer Hospital in Sayre, PA. Born on Friday, October 31, 1958, in Wellsboro, PA, to the late Kenneth and Barbara (Fuller) Palmer.
He was a lifelong resident of the area and a man deeply rooted in the values of hard work, family, and friendship.
Paulie graduated from Cowanesque Valley High School, where he was a proud member of FFA, and carried the lessons he learned there throughout his life. Much of Paul’s life was spent on the family farm, where he worked faithfully milking dairy cows and raising beef cattle. After selling the dairy herd, he went on to work alongside some of his beloved friends, eventually finding employment with Ackley Construction for many years.
He also took part in the maple sugaring business and was a member of the Knoxville VFW. Paulie found great joy in being behind the wheel of his John Deere tractors, hunting, watching racing and football, and catching up with friends. He even took great pride in checking on his “baby beef cows,” attending his grandchildren’s activities, and enjoying rides around the hill that brought him peace and happiness. These simple pleasures reflected the life he loved and the contentment he found in the familiar places and routines that meant so much to him.
Surviving to carry on his memory are his daughter and son-in-law, Bobbie Jo and Chad Smeltz of Westfield; his daughter and son-in-law, Ashley and Russell Owlett of Middlebury Center; and his daughter and her friend, Holly Palmer and Clayton Madison of Galeton. He is also survived by his grandchildren, Drake Smeltz, Kendra and Josh Hultz, Kayla Palmer, Dustin Owlett, Kaitlyn Owlett, and Layne Palmer, as well as a soon-to-be great-grandson. Paul is further survived by his special friend, Sherry Stermer, his sisters and brothers-in-law, nephews, nieces, aunts, uncles, and cousins, all of whom will cherish his memory and the many ways he touched their lives.
Per his wishes there will be no services at this time. Arrangements are in care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Westfield. Memorial donations may be made in Paul’s honor to the Tioga County Fairgrounds, Beef Barn, 118 Ferris Corner Rd., Little Marsh, PA 16950.
