Obituary of Larry Eugene Sherman of Knoxville, PA

Larry Eugene Sherman, 81 of Knoxville, PA, passed away peacefully surrounded by his loving family on Sunday, March 1st, 2026. He was born in Elkland, PA, on Monday, April 3, 1944, to the late James and Blanche Sherman.

Larry served his country in the United States Army in the Vietnam War.

He retired from the transportation industry after 40+ years of service to various companies.

Larry was an avid sports enthusiast as a player and spectator. As a player Larry “Lardy/Buckets” played men’s fast pitch and modified pitch softball. He was an avid fan of all sports.

He is survived by his family: wife, Judith of Knoxville, PA; brother, Brad (Carol) Sherman of Morris, PA; sister, Irene (Wellington) Patterson of Elkland, PA; and Jon and Bonnie (Sherman) Locey of Wellsboro, PA. Children: Denise Sherman of Wellsboro, PA; Matthew (Alison) Sherman of Covington, PA; Lucas (Anjie) Sherman of Wellsboro, PA; Step-daughter Erin (Bruce) Martin of Madison, WI. Grandchildren: Derek Sherman, Ayden (Stephanie) Ruppert, Dustin Sherman, Hunter Shaw, Blake Sherman, Payton Gundersen, MacKenna Gundersen, Katie Sherman, Skylar Martin, Daughtry Sherman, and many nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by an infant son, Darren Sherman; daughter, Krystan Sherman; siblings, Arthur, Irwin, Charles, Rodger, Don, Bernard, Durwood, Barbara, Gary, and Wayne.
