Janet A. Walker, age 78 of Lawrenceville, PA, passed away at her home on Tuesday, November 11, 2025. She was born on Friday, March 14, 1947, in Wellsboro, PA, and was a daughter to the late Jay and Catherine (Thompson) Teachman.
Janet was very proud of her accomplishment of graduating from Corning Community College, where she received her registered nursing license.
She worked at Corning Hospital for over 30 years as an LPN then later on as an RN, before retiring. She loved taking care of her pet cats and the local strays, working as a nurse, tending to her outdoor plants, watching TV, and playing mobile games like solitaire. In her younger years she enjoyed working on needlepoint and cross-stitching projects.
Janet is survived by her son, Mark Baker; grandchildren, Michael (Candic) Baker and Kaitlyn Baker; great-grandchildren, Haven and JJ Baker, and Taylor and Jacob Baumgartner; siblings, Marion Young, Celia Dickson, and Walt Teachman; as well as her adoptive daughter, Andrea (Marty) Jelliff and her children, Abagail Root and Emily Darr. She was preceded in death by both her parents; a son, Jamie Walker; and brothers, John and Rick Teachman.
Per Janet’s wishes, no services are to be held. Arrangements are in the care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Inc.
