
Gertie V. Peer, 100, of Mansfield, PA, formerly of Wellsboro, PA, entered the arms of Jesus on Thursday, July 16, 2026, at her home. She was born on Monday, September 7, 1925, in Gaines Township, the daughter of the late George and Verna (Zimmerman) Robinson.
Gertie married Max M. Peer who preceded her in death on September 21, 1978. In addition to her parents and husband, Gertie was preceded in death by her daughter, Connie Sue Peer.
Gertie worked for Soldiers & Sailors Memorial Hospital as a laundry supervisor, retiring in 1996. She was a lifetime member of the Charleston Baptist Church. She enjoyed taking strawberry pies to her dear neighbors of Wetmore Street. She was always ready to play and determined to win the card game Skip-Bo. She also loved covered bridges and cardinals. Earlier in life, she enjoyed sewing and crocheting.
She is survived by cousins, Pastor Bradley and Sharon Prouty of Mansfield; cousins: Richard Pensy and Lois Hunt of Wellsville New York, and friends who called her Grandma Gertie: Cara Kimball of N. Haverhill, New Hampshire; and Tim Wenger of Austin, Texas.
Family and friends are welcome to pay their respects, Saturday, August 1, 2026, from 10:00 am -11:00 am at the Charleston Baptist Church, 423 Dartt Settlement Rd., Wellsboro, PA 16901. A funeral service will follow at 11:00 am with Pastor Bradley Prouty, officiating. A private burial will be in Shumway Hill Cemetery.
