Gary R. Brown, age 83, of Wellsboro, PA, died on Friday, October 30, 2026. He was born on Thursday, April l, 1943, in Wellsboro, PA, a son of the late Arlington and Lucille (Wilson) Brown. He was married for 58 years to Bonnie (Erway) Brown.
Gary was a teacher for the Galeton Area School District and Tioga County Christian Academy. He was also a farmer, and a pastor at various churches.
He graduated from Wellsboro Area High School in 1961 and in 1968 from Mansfield State College with a master’s degree in biology.
He was a member of the Marsh Creek Fellowship Baptist Church and he enjoyed teaching Sunday School, playing violin and cello, singing, farming and was always studying.
Gary is survived by his wife: Bonnie Brown of Wellsboro, PA, sons: David Brown of Wellsboro, PA, Michael Brown of Chambersburg, PA, Glen (Jessica) Brown of Mifflinburg, PA, daughters: Elaine (Robert) Heck of Mansfield, PA, Karen (Chris) Adams of Dover, PA, April (Jason) Wright Of Canton, PA, sisters: Linda (Jim) Smith Of Mansfield, PA, Dianne (Jim) Dunham of Wellsboro, PA, Joan (Greg) Holst of Downingtown, PA, 22 grandchildren and three great grandchildren.
Viewing will be held on Wednesday, November 4, 2026, from 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM at the Marsh Creek Fellowship Baptist Church in Wellsboro, PA. Funeral service will follow at noon with Rev.
