Frances Lorraine Jayne, age 79 of Mansfield, PA, passed away peacefully on Thursday, January 15, 2026, in her home. She was born on Wednesday, March 27, 1946,, in Blossburg, PA, a daughter of Durwood and Leona (Comfort) Dyke, Sr.
Frances retired from Corning Inc. in 1991, where she worked with fiber optics. She was a member of Bentley Creek Wesleyan Church in Ridgebury, PA and First Baptist Church in Wellsboro, PA.
She enjoyed Tuesday Bible study and loved the Lord. She enjoyed volunteering and spending time within the church. She also enjoyed thrifting, gardening, canning, and lawn work.
Frances was an artist and took great pride in painting and quilting, gifting many beautiful pieces to family and friends through the years.
She volunteered at the Tioga County Fair where she entered her quilts, paintings, and canned goods, often placing.
Frances was a devoted grandmother, priding herself in being a GREAT Grandmother. She was truly one of a kind and will be sorely missed by those she has left behind.
Frances is preceded in death by her son Stephen Jayne and is survived by her son, Kenneth (Kimberly) Jayne of Mansfield, PA; seven grandchildren, Brittney (Justin) Kingsley, Kelcey (Archie) Vroman, Shawn Barrett, Kilah (Brandon) Jayne, Curtis (Ann) Bradley, Kenneth (Kyley) Bradley, and Harper Jayne; and 10 great grandchildren, Elias, Kamerin, Konner, Kadence, Klay, Mason, Grayson, Holden, Dawson, and Hazelynn. Her best friend Kathy Shepherd.
She is also preceded in death by six siblings, Colie Dyke, Durwood “Sonny” Dyke Jr., Robert Dyke, Patty Gerow, Peggy Blanchard, Mary Spencer, and Florence Dyke.
Friends and family are invited to call on Wednesday, January 21, 2026, from 12:00 pm to 2:00pm, please wear pink as it was Frances’ favorite color. Services will be at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc. 637 S. Main St. Mansfield, PA. A funeral service will follow at 2:00 pm with Pastor Rob Wuethrich officiating.
