Obituary of Edward R. Staron of Mansfield, PA

Edward R. Staron, age 90, of Mansfield, PA, passed away on Tuesday, March 24, 2026, at his home. Ed was born on May 13, 1935, in Forrest City, PA, a son of Frank B. and Helen M. (Wilczynski) Staron.

He was the husband of Dolores “Dori” (Signor) Staron.

Ed worked as a Network Systems Technician for Commonwealth Telephone. He was a member of Holy Child Catholic Church, the Blossburg American Legion, and was the longtime president of Mountain Modelaires Radio Control Club. Ed was a proud veteran of the United States Air Force and enjoyed riding motorcycle.

Ed is survived by his wife, Dori; sons, Scott David (Deborah) Staron of Springfield, VA, Richard Arthur (Natalie) Staron of Kingston, PA, and Christopher Louis (Christine) Staron of Youngstown, OH; grandchildren, Chase, Kyle, Rebecca, Julia and Roger, and great-grandchildren Haylee Mae, Colton, and Jordyn. He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, Joseph Staron and Paul Staron, and sister, Victoria Simpson.

Family and friends gathered together for a memorial service on Saturday, March 28, 2026, at Buckheit Funeral Chapel and Crematory, Inc., in Mansfield, PA. The service was officiated by Reverend Bryan Wright. Burial was in Saint Mary’s Catholic Cemetery in Blossburg, PA.
