David D. Gurnsey, age 67 of Wellsboro, PA, passed away at his home on February 15, 2026. He was born on Friday, August 22, 1958, in Wellsboro to the late Daniel and Faye Gurnsey of Addison, NY.
Dave attended Williamson Jr. Sr. High School in Tioga, PA, class of 1976. After graduating from high school, he worked as a truck driver for a short time before becoming a diesel mechanic for Ralph’s Ford in Mansfield, PA. He retired from PennDot after 25 years of service.
Dave had a free spirit and loved to take off on adventures, often on his Harley Davidson. He enjoyed eating good food at his favorite bars and restaurants and the company of great friends. Dave was someone quick to lend a helping hand to anyone in need.
He is survived by his daughters; Jill (Dave) Trimble of Addison, NY, and Allison Gurnsey of Horseheads, NY; his sister Vickie Kamataris of Wellsboro, PA; his brother Mark Gurnsey of New Hampshire; five grandchildren and four great-grandchildren; a niece and three nephews.
Dave was preceded in death by his parents.
Per Dave’s wishes, there will be no service.
