Carl Wayne Van Ness, age 82, of Mansfield, PA, went home to be with his Lord and Savior on Thursday, December 25, 2025, at his home. He was born on Wednesday, December 1, 1943, in Roseville, PA, a son of Jay and Myrtle (Knapp) Van Ness.
He was married to Lynnette (Smith) Van Ness. Carl worked as a milk processor at Farmer In The Dell. He also worked at Ward Manufacturing and was in the firewood business. He enjoyed hunting and fishing.
Carl is survived by his loving wife of 53 years; eight children, Calvin (Shacara Zimmerman) Van Ness of Pine Grove, PA, Gary (Jennifer Rodriguez) Van Ness of San Antonio, TX, Carla Van Ness of Wellsboro, PA, Diana Van Ness of Sweet Valley, PA, Barbara (Jason) Richards of Wellsboro, PA, Melissa (Jack) Owlett of Middlebury Center, PA, Rebecca (David) Hickernell of Duboistown, PA, and Carl (Reagan) Van Ness of Mansfield, PA; twenty five grandchildren; sixteen great grandchildren; and a sister, Doris Brewster of Wellsboro, PA.
He was preceded in death by his parents; two brothers, Earl and Bill Van Ness; six sisters, Lois Long, Norma Schroeder, Ida Johnson, Iva Hoke, Alice Packer, and Arlene Webster; and an infant son, Alden Jay Van Ness.
Friends and family are invited to call on Saturday, January 3, 2026, from 10:00 am to 11:00 am at New Creation Events Ministry, 1285 Charleston Road in Wellsboro, PA.
