Betty Jane Allu, age 76 of Nelson, PA, passed away on Thursday, May 21, 2026, at the Wellsboro Green Home. She was born on Friday, July 1, 1949, in Wellsboro, PA, and was a daughter to the late David and Grace (Simonnetti) Kemp.
She was very family oriented; and loved being with her family. Betty was very devoted to her mother and father.
Betty was a member of the Lighthouse Bible Baptist Church in Webster, NY. An inspiring Girl Scout leader for her daughter’s troup. She was creatively gifted;. Betty loved arts and crafts like painting, sewing, and making homemade decorations.
When she attended Penfield High School she received an honorable mention for her paintings. Betty was talented with interior designing, she had the eye and touch for making a room come to life with design and color. She also loved decorating her home for each holiday. She even shared her gift of creativity with friends and family.
Betty is survived by her sister, Candace Geller of Nelson, PA; niece, Morgan (Adrien) Williams of Medford, OR; daughter, Tammy (Jason) Leone and their children, Sydney and Connor all of Virginia; and a daughter in law, Christine Meschi and her son, David Meschi both of Rochester, NY.
She was preceded in death by both her parents; her first husband, Robert Meschi; second husband, Joseph Allu; a son, Robbie Meschi; and a sister, Crena Bowles.
A memorial service will be held on Tuesday, June 23, 2026, at Kenyon Funeral Home, 214 W. Main St., Elkland, PA at 2:00 pm Pastor Michael Denelsbeck will officiate the service. Family and friends are welcomed to attend. She will be laid to rest beside her husband in Rochester, NY at a later date. Arrangements are in the care of Kenyon Funeral Home, Inc.
