TIOGA COUNTY, NY – Missing Nichols, New York teenager who was reported missing after he never returned home after leaving early Saturday morning, May 9, 2026. The teenager was later found deceased.
According to New York State Police, 18-year-old Dalton G. Malmstrom, of Nichols, New York, was found deceased in the Susquehanna River by the NYSP Under Water Recovery Team and members of the K-9 unit.
NYSP reported that Dalton Malmstrom was last seen leaving his his home in the 2100 block of East River Road, near the Susquehanna River in the town of Nichols, around7:45 AM on Saturday morning, May 9, 2026. Family members noted that Malmstrom was not acting like himself prior to him leaving.
A heavy presence of emergency responders and an army of volunteers from both New York and Pennsylvania were seen searching for a missing teen along the Susquehanna River.
