Man Injured In Rollover Accident

WELLSBORO, PA – Late Friday evening, September 12, 2025, Wellsboro fire and EMS units responded to a single vehicle accident in the area of 1892 Left Asaph Road in Shippen Township, around 11:00 PM.

A text to 911 from a cell phone is what alerted the dispatch center about a possible crash. Wellsboro fire and EMS crews were directed to the longitude and latitude coordinates where the phone’s location was pinged at. That was all the 911 operator received about the incident.

Wellsboro fire personnel were searching for the accident scene when one firefighter came across a man in the roadway around 11:16 PM. The male had suffered noticeable injuries. It was learned that the actual crash site was approximately a mile from the location that crews had been dispatched to due to the pinged location of the cell phone.

One ambulance and an engine staged at a nearby campground as assistance was given to the injured driver. The firefighter that came across the victim went ahead to check over the scene to make sure that there were no other victims. When the vehicle was located it was learned that the vehicle had rolled over multiple times and had come to rest well off the roadway.

The victim was receiving treatment in the back of an ambulance when Pennsylvania State Police arrived on scene to speak with the driver. Once the Troopers collected needed information they then headed to the accident site to investigate the accident.

The scene was handed over to Pennsylvania State Police by midnight (Saturday, September 13, 2025) and Wellsboro crews were cleared to head back to their station. The victim was transported to the hospital for treatment of his injuries.
