ROULETTE, PA – On Monday, July 6, 2026, around 12:47 AM, Pennsylvania State Troopers based in Coudersport , PA, engaged in a traffic stop in the 2600 block of Route 6 W in Roulette Township with the accused, 64-year-old Timothy Hewitt, of Kennedy, NY.

Troopers would find out that Hewitt had a suspended NY driver’s license when they ran a check on him. When questioned about his suspended driver’s license, Hewitt asked if the two troopers were “gangsters.” Hewitt also said that they 9the two Trooper) were “probably fake cops.”

Hewitt was ordered to exit the vehicle, and he said, “I’m driving home” and closed the window. One of the Troopers opened Hewitt’s door and said he needed to step out of the vehicle or he would be removed.

Hewitt again called the Troopers fake cops and swore at the two Troopers before he punched one Trooper Patton twice in the chest. At that point the Trooper deployed his taser into Hewitt. he taser was ineffective, which allowed Hewitt time to close his door and flee from police.

During the nearly twenty mile pursuit Hewitt allegedly disregarded a number of traffic laws, including driving on the wrong side of the road on numerous occasions, at speeds of up to 70 mph. Police noted that Hewitt was spun out numerous times by Coudersport State Troopers trying to PIT maneuvers, however, Hewitt supposedly continued fleeing from police.

The pursuit along Route 6 continued into Port Allegany, McKean County. Hewitt then turned onto West Mill Street, where police once again conducted a PIT maneuver. Hewitt was said to have been spun out, but he was able to regain control of the vehicle and fled back towards Route 6 on Mill Street.

Additional attempts to stop Hewitt were made but all failed. Hewitt then fled on Route 6 in Port Allegany Borough and continued along Route 155 through Liberty, Annin, and Eldred townships.

Pennsylvania State Police based in Lewis Run used spike strips along Route 155, just before the intersection with Routes 155 and 446, Hewitt struck the spike strips but was able to continue fleeing along Route 446 through Eldred Township and into the Eldred Borough. At that time, a third PIT maneuver was ended up being successful. Coudersport State Police patrol unit and Hewitt’s 2022 Black Audi Quattro came to rest in a yard.

Troopers from Coudersport and Lewis Run told Hewitt to get out of the vehicle. However, Hewitt was said to have refused to listen to the officers. Troopers tried to pull him from his vehicle, but allegedly Hewitt kept resisting.

Hewitt was finally taken into custody after resisting arrest. One Coudersport Trooper suffered a broken hand as a result of punching Hewitt, according to police. Both Hewitt and the Coudersport Trooper were taken to UPMC Cole Hospital for treatment.

After being cleared from the hospital, Hewitt was interviewed at the Coudersport barrack. Hewitt allegedly stated that he thought the Troopers were Iranians, and he fled because he thought he was going to die. Hewitt also stated that “Trump is sending the Iranians” to kill him, and has been for months.

Hewitt even claimed that the police had made everything up and he didn’t believe anything the corporal said. At that point, the interview came to a conclusion.
