
PSP-Towanda Release – January 27, 2026.
BRADFORD COUNTY, PA – On Thursday, January 22, 2026, around 3:19 PM, Pennsylvania State Police based in Towanda responded to an accident in the area of East Street at its’ intersection with Hollow Road in Pike Township, PA.
According to police, 31-year-old Nathan R. Brace of LeRaysville, PA, was traveling south along East Street during a downhill portion and the braking system failed of his 2005 Subaru Outback. Brace attempted to slow the vehicle down around a sharp bend of East Street but he lost control of his vehicle and drove off the roadway and into a ditch.
Brace did not report any injuries as the lap and shoulder belt were used. The Subaru Outback was towed from the scene by Jack Williams Towing and a notice of crash investigation was issued. Upon inspection of the braking system, it was determined the braking system was in an unsafe operating condition. Brace was issued a traffic citation for Title 75 – 4107 B2 – Which means it makes it unlawful to operate, or allow another to operate, a vehicle on a Pennsylvania highway that is not equipped according to state regulations, or when the vehicle or driver is in violation of Department of Transportation regulations.
