LITTLE MARSH, PA – On Saturday, November 29 2025, fire crews from Chatham Township Volunteer Fire Company, Knoxville-Deerfield Volunteer Fire Company, and Crary Hose Company responded to a land rescue in Chatham Township. Also a Wellsboro medic unit, as well as an ambulance from Sabinsville were also dispatched around 12:03 PM to the area of 118 Ferris Corner Road for a hunter suffering chest pains.

Fire personnel and additional units started arriving on scene around 12:18 PM. An UTV was also needed to help bring the mid-fifty-year-old patient from the field to the roadway where EMS personal were waiting.

By 12:45 PM the male patient was transported to UPMC Wellsboro Hospital for further evaluation and treatment.

Fire crews were cleared from the area a short time later.

According to Knoxville-Deerfield fire personnel, all fire crews worked as an exceptional team to get the individual from wood line to the awaiting ambulance quickly so he could get the assistance he needed.
