WELLSBORO, PA – An icy road caused a two vehicle accident early Monday morning, November 17, 2025, in Wellsboro Borough, around 5:45 AM.
Wellsboro Borough Police and Wellsboro fire personnel responded to the area of 61 East Avenue where the crash blocked the roadway. Wellsboro fire personnel arrived on scene quickly as did police. It was immediately noted that the roads were slick and a warning of extremely icy road conditions was noted.
One vehicle had hit the wall along East Avenue but both vehicles blocked traffic. The two vehicles were able to be moved over to the Kwik Fill Parking lots and Borough Police went ahead and handled the accident investigation paperwork. No fire units were needed and once both vehicles were removed the one Wellsboro firefighter was able to head out around 5:58 AM.
Both drivers involved in the crash declined treatment. Once the paperwork was completed by police both drivers were free to leave.
