BLOSSBURG, PA – The Blossburg Veterans Memorial was once known as the Soldiers and Sailors Memorial. It was dedicated to Veterans of All U.S.A. Wars from Blossburg, PA.
The white marble sculpture that stands in the center of the memorial depicts a uniformed World War II era soldier standing beside the grave of a comrade. He holds his helmet in his right hand by his side as he leans on the gravestone with his left hand. Behind him stands a masonry wall topped with an eagle perched on the top center section of the stone wall. The person who sculpted this is unknown.

The Blossburg Veterans Memorial was dedicated on May 30, 1945. It used to have a plaque with all the names of local soldiers. The original plaque was later replaced with a simple small bronze plaque that reads “Dedicated to Veterans of All U.S.A. Wars from Blossburg, Pennsylvania”. It is unknown what happened to the original plaque with the list of veterans’ names.
