WELLSBORO, PA – Wellsboro fire crews and UGI responded to a reported gas leak in the borough Tuesday morning, July 21, 2026, just around 8:56 AM.
Wellsboro fire personnel, as well as UGI quickly arrived at 18 Highland Street at 9:02 AM where a gas line had been struck.
Highland Street was closed down as UGI worked to isolate the leak. Once the leak was isolated, Wellsboro fire personnel were able to be cleared from the scene and return to their station by 10:00 AM.
UGI proceeded to fix the damage. It is unknown when the line repaired. However, there were no reported injuries due to the incident.
