Friends, Community and Strangers Join Together to Help a Grieving Family – You Can Help as Well

TROY, PA – On Sunday, January 11, 2026, Amy Swackhammer was involved in a terrible head-on crash along Route 6 between Troy and Towanda. The vehicle that hit Amy had lost control on snow covered roadway.

Amy would be airlifted to the hospital , however despite lifesaving efforts she sadly passed away due to her injuries on Monday morning, January 12, 2026..

With the unexpected and sudden loss Amy’s grieving children Pearl and Robert are faced with the struggles of of upcoming funeral costs, and final expenses, as there were no prior arrangements made by their mother in advance.

At this point, the family will need to pay out of pocket and neither Pearl or Robert have any savings set aside as they both have families themselves. This situation has caused a financial challenge that they will need assistance with.

A GoFundMe account has been set to help the family and Benefit Dinner is also being organized (Details provided below).

The Benefit Dinner honoring the family of Amy Swackhammer will be held on Saturday, January 31st starting at noon in Alparon Park located at 436 Gate 3 Lane in Troy, PA.

This benefit dinner is a special gathering to bring the community together in support of the family of Amy Swackhammer during this difficult time.

Come on out and enjoy a delicious meal, participate in the Chinese auction, and feel the joy of helping others.

Chinese auction drawings will begin at 3:00 PM.

the meal being served will consist of Chicken & Biscuits, Mashed Potatoes, and Corn. Beverage choices include Coffee, Soda, or Water.

Costs is $5 per child and $10 per adult.

Proceeds will go directly to the Swackhammer family to assist them.
