A section of Route 349 (Church Street) is closed down due to flooding in Westfield, PA (7:07 PM).

WESTFIELD, PA – A foot and half of water was reported coming across Route 349 (Church Street) near the tannery around 7:07 PM, on Thursday, March 5, 2026. Also reports of debris was noted in the roadway approximately a mile from where water was running across Route 349 (Church Street).
Route 349 was immediately closed down as water started flooding over other sections of that roadway and more debris was being reported as well.
Westfield Public Works and PennDOT were both requested to the scene to assist by Crary Hose Company fire personnel already on scene. Westfield Public Works responded to the area immediately.
Route 349 (Church Street) was closed between Tanners Lane and Abplanalp Road.
PennDot representative arrived on scene around 7:40 PM to assist Westfield fire personnel to divert the water back into the ditches along Route 349 (Church Street).
By 8:41 PM PennDOT took over the scene allowing Crary Hose Company firefighter(s) to be cleared to return to their station. However, Route 349 remains closed as of 8:45 PM.
