FNN Weather Update – Monday, July 6, 2026.
A Flood Watch has been issued for the following central Pennsylvania counties;
Cameron, Columbia, Dauphin, Elk, Lancaster, Lebanon, McKean, Montour, Northern & Southern Centre, Northern & Southern Clinton, Northern & Southern Lycoming,
Northumberland, Potter, Schuylkill, Snyder, Sullivan, Tioga, Warren and Union.
The Flood Watch is in effect until 2:00 AM, Tuesday morning, July 7th, as scattered slow moving thunderstorms and locally heavy downpours will develop this afternoon and linger into this evening. Rainfall amounts could approach 2 to 3 inches in localized areas where slow moving storms persist the longest.
Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible through late tonight and early Tuesday morning.
Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Flooding may occur in poor drainage and urban areas.
Remember never drive across flooded roadways or through moving water. Use caution if traveling in poor weather and make sure your headlights are on while operating your vehicle.
