WELLSBORO, PA – Wellsboro Police and fire crews dispatched for a reported carbon monoxide alarm activation early Saturday morning, April 4, 2026, around 12:14 AM.
The homeowner reported that the CO alarm was going off in a newer home. The home at 104 Nichols Street in Wellsboro Borough was evacuated by the family as a safety precaution.
Wellsboro Borough Police were quickly on scene by 12:19 AM and a Wellsboro engine arrived on scene at 12:26 AM. Once on scene, firefighters started investigation the cause of the alarm activation at the two story single family home.
Fire personnel did request that UGI be notified of the incident as firefighters continued their investigation into the cause of the alarm.
By 12:53 AM it was noted by Wellsboro fire personnel that nothing was found in the home and all fire crews were able to be released and back back to their station. The home was turned back over to the owner.
