Elkland Volunteer Fire Department Equipped For Water Rescues

ELKLAND, PA – The Elkland Volunteer Fire Department teamed up with their municipality for water rescue preparedness since the increasing number of flooding incidents and water rescues throughout the county. The department is pleased to announce they now have equipment to suit up eight responders from head to toe in water rescue equipment, as well as a Spartan water rescue boat. Making the department well equipped for water rescues in the future.

Tioga County, PA, has seen an increasing number of flooding incidents in the past and the fire department has since been training and preparing for water rescues if the need arises in the coming years. No matter what type of water rescue may occur, be it due to flooding or any other type water emergency, they will be ready to assist.

The Elkland Volunteer Fire Department expressed their sincere thanks to the Elkland Borough Council their eagerness to assist the fire department with a portion of this project with the Act 13 funding.
