MANSFIELD, PA – A driver was rushed to Williamsport Hospital after being involved n an early Sunday morning crash in Richmond Township.
The single vehicle accident occurred on Sunday, April 5, 2026, around 3:20 AM near 2503 South Main Street in front of the Chevrolet Dealership in Mansfield, PA.
Early reports indicated that a vehicle had struck a tree and the driver was ejected from the vehicle. The vehicle then caught on fire.
The Tioga County 911 Center received multiple calls about the crash. Mansfield Hose Company fire and EMS crews rushed to the scene to assist and extinguish the fire.
Responding fire personnel requested the availability of a medical helicopter, however, none were able to fly due to weather.
Ambulance personnel arrived on scene around 3:29 AM and they reported that the vehicle was fully involved. A short time later fire units started arriving on scene.
The driver was treated at the scene and evaluated. Afterwards the individual was quickly loaded into the Mansfield Ambulance and transported to the Williamsport Hospital for further treatment.
Pennsylvania State Police arrived on scene by 3:42 AM to investigate the cause of this accident.
The fire was was brought under control around 3:37 AM and by 3:56 AM the fire was reported out.
FNN is unsure which towing service removed the totaled vehicle, but it seems a towing service arrived around 4:20 AM to remove the vehicle.
All remaining fire crews were cleared to return to their station at 4:34 AM.
