Deer Causes Crash In Osceola Township

OSCEOLA TOWNSHIP, PA – A deer caused a crash Monday evening, November 17, 2025, in Osceola Township.

The accident occurred in the area of 7109 Route 49 just before 9:15 PM. A female driver struck a deer which caused disabling damages to her vehicle. The female driver called 911 for assistance shortly after hitting the deer. The impact of the crash also caused airbag deployment and the vehicle came to rest in the roadway.

Fire crews from Osceola, Elkland and Valley Ambulance responded to the incident. Osceola fire personnel arrived on scene around 9:20 PM and reported

Due to the vehicle blocking the roadway, Osceola fire personnel had the 911 dispatcher contact Pennsylvania State Police to ask if it would be alright to move the vehicle from the roadway. Pennsylvania State Police acknowledge their approval to allow firefighters to move the vehicle as it was a hazard to leave it there until police arrived.

Responding EMS units were able to be recalled as the female declined treatment. The vehicle was moved to a parking lot. Cooper’s Towing Service out of Wellsboro was requested. Cooper’s arrived on scene at 10:17 PM.

The vehicle was towed away after Pennsylvania State Police obtained all the information they needed on the accident. Osceola fire crews were cleared to return back to their station at 10:26 PM.

It is believed that Elkland fire units were recalled, however, FNN could not confirm that information at time of publication.
